The reconstruction of Svinov Bridges began
Road closure of half of an important transport hub began on Friday the 13th January. Due to the reconstruction of the South Svinov bridge it will be closed until mid-August.
"Because of safety and traffic fluidity, we asked the contractor for traffic signs for alternate routes, which includes more than 4,000 signs and markings on roadways," said Deputy Mayor Ales Bohac. At the time of reconstruction of the bridge will be two lanes of south at the north bridge used for public and private transport, in the direction from Ostrava to Poruba. The third lane is designed for public transport from the direction of Poruba to Ostrava, and will also serve the police, firefighters, ambulances, construction vehicles. For individual car transport, this lane is completely closed, drivers have to use one of the alternatives in the direction to Ostrava. In addition, on the northern bridge will be also tram track, which will be used alternately for both directions of travel. The bus stop will be relocated.
