The University Hospital in Ostrava has opened a brand new Mother and Child Care Pavilion, which is one of the most modern perinatal centres in the Czech Republic. This pavilion will bring all the facilities of the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Clinic under one roof.

The University Hospital Ostrava is again the leading facility

Inaugurated on Thursday, 10 January, the new pavilion features, among other things, a delivery room with a state-of-the-art monitoring system and new instrumentation at the ICU.

The University Hospital is the flagship hospital of the Moravian-Silesian region and the new Mother and Child Centre raises the bar even higher. The University Hospital Ostrava is again the leading facility. There are seventeen hospitals in the region, but the faculty hospital plays a key role, because it also engages in research, putting medicine at a completely different level. Regional and private satellite hospitals work closely with it.

In 2018, the number of births at the University Hospital in Ostrava was up twenty percent year on year. Previously, its capacity was 2,000 births per year. Now an increase to 2,700, maybe even 3,000 is expected. The demand for its services is great, which is not only due to the new building, but also to the professional approach of all employees. The facility has a very good reputation.
