The continent’s top figure skaters are coming to Ostrava
Ostrava has hosted many top international sporting events over the years, and in January 2017 it will add another to the list – the European Figure Skating Championships.
This is the first time in the country’s history that this prestigious event will be held outside Prague; Ostrava was chosen thanks to its excellent reputation as a top-class host city with wide-ranging experience of organizing international events and a rich sporting history.
The venue for the championships – undoubtedly Ostrava’s top sporting and social event of 2017 – will be the Ostravar Arena. The ambassador for the event is Czech figure skating star Tomáš Verner, who was the European champion in 2008. The event will feature 150 competitors from 36 countries. Find out more information here.
