Departments

The City Hall consists of the mayor, deputy mayors, the city hall secretary, and city employees assigned to the city hall.

The city hall is divided into departments, which have been established by the city council for individual areas of activity. Specialized units of the city hall that have a different name than “department” (unit, office, archive) also hold the status of a department. The city hall secretary acts as the employer for all city employees, with the exception of municipal police officers. The city hall secretary is primarily responsible for handling labor-law issues and personnel matters, supervising and controlling employees’ activities, and coordinating the work of the individual departments.

Through their department heads, the departments carry out assigned tasks in the areas of state administration and local government. Selected city hall officials are able to communicate in sign language.
