Updated 10.08.2026 10:17 Just a year ago, the corner of Masná, Stodolní and Porážková streets was occupied by abandoned buildings that once formed part of a former industrial complex. Today, the site is being transformed by Residential Development Stodolní, a project by Linkcity Czech Republic that is bringing one of the last unused brownfield sites in Ostrava's historic city centre back to life. Construction is progressing successfully and, following the completion of preparatory works, the project has now entered its next phase.

Updated 03.08.2026 13:51 Construction of the highly anticipated penguin pavilion at Ostrava Zoo and Botanical Park is progressing on schedule. Once completed, the new exhibit is expected to become one of the zoo’s major attractions. Rising on the site of the former tiger enclosures, the pavilion will offer a modern habitat where visitors will be able to observe penguins in a variety of settings – on land, in the water and even beneath the surface. The new attraction is expected to open in autumn 2027, further enhancing one of Ostrava’s most visited destinations.
