Moravian-Silesian Invest and Development

The Moravian-Silesian Invest and Development is a joint-stock company 100% owned by the Moravian-Silesian Region. It was established in 1993 as the Regional Development Agency (RDA) in order to support development throughout the Region. MSID's role is to implement the Region's development policies, including a wide range of projects and initiatives which benefit companies, institutions and individuals throughout the Region.

In 2018 the Regional Development Agency became the MSID. This name change reflected a shift in focus, as the MSID became one of the specialist agencies tasked with helping the Region to implement its development strategy 'Vision 2024: New Energy for the Moravian-Silesian Region'. MSID's core activities focus on supporting business, enterprise and employment in the Region.

MSID operates in three core priority areas. Priority 1 is support for investment in the Region. Priority 2 is support for business (including the planning and implementation of development projects). Priority 3 is marketing. All three core priority areas are closely integrated and coordinated to boost regional development across a broad spectrum of activities.

Moravian-Silesian Employment Pact (MSEP)

MSEP's portfolio of activities includes providing services to schools, companies and individuals in the Region as well as offering strategic and conceptual input to the creation of new processes and change management in conjunction with public-sector institutions. MSEP also conducts labour market analyses, surveys and forecasts, supports the introduction of innovative new systems for the labour market, offers methodological support for vocational training, coordinates cooperation between schools and companies, helps organize career advisory services, and contributes to the development of strategic processes and networks of services for the labour market.

As part of its services to employers in the Region, MSEP helps to coordinate vocational placements (for current employees or school students) in order to meet companies' specific requirements. It mediates contacts between employers and schools in a range of subjects that are of key importance to industry. It provides methodological support and helps coordinate partnerships between industry and schools, implementing elements of the dual education system. Employers work closely with MSEP to define current needs in vocational training and education, ensuring that school students – future employees – are well-equipped for their future careers. Employers are involved at all stages of this process: helping to shape schools' strategic planning, contributing to the design of new school curricula and the modernization of existing teaching provision, devising effective practical training programmes (both at schools and on placements with the employer), and sitting on final examination committees. MSEP gives employers up-to-date information on the latest developments in the labour market, including analyses and forecasts of developments in individual industries, predicted numbers of students and graduates of individual study programmes, trends in vacancies and unemployment, and other relevant issues.
