Building of the year 2016 is in Ostrava!
Professional jury together with the public has chosen the best building of the year 2016. From 65 registred projects the most votes received the completion of the Municipal Stadium in Ostrava-Vítkovice. This victory completes Ostrava successful story as last year other two projects - Bolt Tower construction and renovation of buildings in the area of Hlubina Mine in Lower Vítkovice were awarded.

Reconstruction of the stadium, whose authors were composed of a team of architects David Kotek, Zuzana Sýkorová and Josef Zlámal, was completed last year. The result are a new covered stand for more than 5,000 spectators, a new tartan track and other sectors, new bleachers, a stadium entry, an energy center and other buildings. The stadium meets all the requirements and certification for holding national and international sports events such as athletics meetings (e.g. Golden Spike athletics meeting) or Football League match.
