BMW Group Launches Construction of Hi-Tech Logistics Hub in Mošnov
On Thursday, May 15, representatives of the BMW Group, Czech developer Gridarch (formerly Concens Investments), the City of Ostrava, and the Moravian-Silesian Region gathered in Mošnov to ceremonially plant three symbolic Czech lime trees, marking the start of construction for a state-of-the-art logistics center.

The new facility will be located on a 126,000 m² site within the third phase of the Ostrava Airport Multimodal Park (OAMP), adjacent to Leoš Janáček Airport.
The new logistics center, expected to launch pilot operations in Q1 2026 and reach full capacity by the end of the same year, will support BMW Group’s global supply chain—exporting key automotive and motorcycle components to overseas plants in regions such as Asia and the Americas.
“The long-term lease agreement with BMW Group allows us to further develop this unique location, which we’ve been building since 2018. Its combination of air, road, and rail cargo transport made it the ideal choice for BMW,” said Tomáš Novotný, CEO of Gridarch. “Construction of three new logistics halls covering over 123,000 m² is now underway and expected to be completed by early 2026.”
Oliver Bilstein, Head of BMW Group Oversea Logistics, highlighted the strategic importance of Ostrava in the company’s supply chain: “Becoming part of the growing logistics hub in Ostrava represents a major step for BMW Group’s logistics network. This new center will ensure timely delivery of components to our overseas factories, from the Czech Republic to the world.”
A Strategic Milestone for Ostrava
Ostrava’s Mayor Jan Dohnal emphasized the significance of the investment: “This project confirms that Ostrava is an attractive destination for major global brands. The new BMW distribution hub will strengthen our city's position in international logistics and bring long-term benefits, including quality jobs and new business opportunities. It’s another step toward Ostrava becoming a technology leader in the Czech Republic.”
Josef Bělica, Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region, added:
“The integration of air, rail, and highway transport makes Mošnov a unique logistics hub in the country. We value BMW Group’s decision to invest here. Projects like this, which focus on innovation and high-added-value production, are exactly what our region needs.”
