Updated Today 10:26 The Golden Spike Ostrava, one of the prestigious meetings of the World Athletics Continental Tour GOLD, is set to reach top speed this year. The phenomenal Noah Lyles, currently dominating the world of sprinting, will arrive in Ostrava where he will test his speed on a unique 150-metre track.

The Colours of Ostrava festival is significantly expanding its programme beyond the main music stages. Three theatre stages will present a wide range of performances – from stand-up comedy and curated shows to outstanding large-scale productions in the main hall. A brand-new addition this year is the music-focused Steel Stage, complementing the two largest stages, Česká spořitelna Stage and T-Mobile Stage.

Its main objective was to strengthen metropolitan cooperation and governance in Central Europe. During the project, 17 key outputs were produced, 32 articles were published, and an online community of more than 300 experts was established.

This anniversary inspired the photo exhibition “Katowice Today”, which can be viewed daily in the foyer of Ostrava’s New City Hall until the end of March. The general public is warmly invited.

Air quality across the regional capital continues to be at an excellent level. Until 15 February 2026, the general public can view all architectural designs for the new Bazaly Stadium free of charge. The hall at the Municipal District Office of Moravská Ostrava and Přívoz is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. At the same time, an engaging accompanying programme continues, which is also free.

The firm's executive director and senior partner, Tristán López-Chicheri, and the lead architect for the New Bazaly project, Guillermo Guso, were received at the New Town Hall, toured Dolní Vítkovice, and served as the principal speakers at an evening debate within a thematic exhibition.
