More importantly, computer science is moving towards industrial applications, Industry 4.0, which is a great opportunity for the region to digitize its industry.

Number of card payments in Ostrava public transport is skyrocketing even after two years

The attractiveness of public transport depends on the accessibility, safety, reliability and quality of the system; an important contribution in this regard is the simple and easy system of payment. Besides standard single-journey or time-valid tickets, all of Ostrava's public transport vehicles accept standard contactless bank cards. This makes it considerably easier for passengers to use the system, and it has boosted the number of users (including visitors to Ostrava).

Ostrava celebrates 100 years of the Republic

This year, we commemorate the 100th anniversary of Czechoslovakia. This important historical jubilee is connected with 28 October 1918, when an independent Czechoslovak state was proclaimed. For the Czech Republic, this day is a public holiday and an occasion for celebrations and memorial events. A year-long project to honour this anniversary was also proclaimed by the City of Ostrava. It includes exhibitions, concerts, and lectures, events for children and adults, and publications.
