Attended by the Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region Ivo Vondrák, the Mayor of the City of Ostrava Tomáš Macura, representatives of CONCENS INVESTMENTS and representatives of DHL Automotive, Central Warehouse Solution (Skladon), Continental Barum, Rhenus Logistics and UFI Filters, the first tenants, the first hall of the OSTRAVA AIRPORT MULTIMODAL PARK logistics centre was ceremonially opened yesterday.

"This project is very important for the development of our region. The OSTRAVA AIRPORT MULTIMODAL PARK logistics centre is strategically located, and its connection to railway and air transport will certainly be appreciated by companies from all over the world. I believe that our region will attract not only other traders but also potential investors. The Moravian-Silesian Region has a very high potential, it is a region that is developing dynamically towards innovation and offers ideal conditions for business. We therefore very much welcome the opening of the logistics centre" said Ivo Vondrák, Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region.

After its completion, OSTRAVA AIRPORT MULTIMODAL PARK will be the largest logistics centre in Central Europe. The first hall was built in less than a year and has an area of 57,133 m2. The area of the whole complex is 52 hectares and after completion it will offer more than 234 thousand m2 of storage, production and office space. The construction is planned in three stages. Currently, the second hall of 48,864 m2 is being built and the last one will be completed in 2021. The complex will also include a railway siding leading directly to the two largest halls as well as a railway container terminal for trains of up to 700 meters, which will allow a large part of the freight to be moved from road to railway. Leoš Janáček International Airport Ostrava is connected to the European motorway and railway network.

"I am pleased that the dynamic development of the OSTRAVA AIRPORT MULTIMODAL PARK is creating the infrastructure needed to attract other successful companies to the region. We have always been very investor-friendly and worked closely with both existing and new investors. We assist them in the phases of sale, preparation and implementation of investment projects, and we make every effort to ensure that the strategic Mošnov industrial zone perfectly meets their capacity and infrastructure requirements. This helps expand and create new production and business activities", said Ostrava Mayor Tomáš Macura.

The construction of a multimodal park is realized by CONCENS INVESTMENTS, which focuses on projects in the field of commercial and industrial real estate. Its past projects include the construction of a handling equipment repair centre for Linde Material Handling in Velké Bílovice. Petr Kalina, Director of CONCENS INVESTMENTS, commented on the construction of the logistics centre in Mošnov:

"The decision to move forward with the OSTRAVA AIRPORT MULTIMODAL PARK project is fully in line with our investments with a clear and long-term vision to create a portfolio of premium industrial properties."

J&T Group is the financial partner of the project. Roman Florián, Director of J&T IB and Capital Markets, a.s., commented on the project:

"We see market potential in the industrial real estate sector and in the case of Ostrava's Mošnov we believe the industrial zone is a very interesting financial investment given the strong demand from producers, e-commerce and logistics, workforce available in the region and a unique combination of transport infrastructure. It gives the region pan-European importance. The multi-modal logistics and industrial park has already been tried and trusted by the existing global-brand tenants and attracts the attention of Asian and US global investors."
