50 IT specialists to be recruited by Brose CZ
Brose CZ has opened an IT services centre at the Moravian-Silesian Innovation Centre (MSIC) in Ostrava. The MSIC was established jointly by the City of Ostrava and the Moravian-Silesian Region as the successor to the former Ostrava Science and Technology Park.

Brose CZ specializes in mechatronic systems for the automotive industry, supplying many of the world’s leading car brands. On Friday 6 April the company opened a brand-new IT services centre in Ostrava. The centre is located at the Moravian-Silesian Innovation Centre (MSIC) in Ostrava-Poruba, and it will provide IT support for Brose’s entire global operations. The new centre will create jobs for around 50 IT specialists – mainly IT infrastructure experts, software engineers and app developers, as well as systems support and user support specialists.
Ostrava’s Mayor Tomáš Macura commented on the opening: “We are delighted that Brose now has a factory in Ostrava, and that the company has chosen to expand its presence in the city by moving into premises at the Moravian-Silesian Innovation Centre. It is an excellent reference for other potential investors who are considering setting up operations here in Ostrava and bringing more investment in innovation and industrial research and development – thus helping to create even closer contacts between business and the academic sphere. It also demonstrates the importance of the joint project by the City of Ostrava and the Region to set up the Moravian-Silesian Innovation Centre, which manages the Science and Technology Park that was established by the City back in 1997. I would like to wish Brose’s Ostrava factory – and the entire company – continued success in its future development, which has the potential to create many valuable new jobs here in Ostrava.”
Regional President Ivo Vondrák also welcomed the investment: “The new IT services centre near the Technical University campus will not only bring new jobs: it will also help to intensify cooperation with students and graduates from the university. I am sure that Brose will be an attractive employer for these IT experts, representing a strong motivation for them to remain in our Region and build their careers here. The success achieved by Brose will also help to raise the Region’s profile on the international stage – so I welcome this investment whole-heartedly.”
