Ostrava Community Center

Project description

The goal of the planned project ‘Construction of a Community Centre’ is to provide social services that are currently lacking and were defined in the ‘Second Community Plan for Social Services and Related Activities in the City of Ostrava up to 2010’. The facility will cater for clients with severe physical and combined handicaps who have reached school leaving age or who have completed vocational training.

The Community Centre will offer accommodation in sheltered apartments with facilities for handicapped clients. It will have a capacity of 18 residents plus temporary short-term accommodation (6 beds) as part of relief services for children and adults who are usually cared for by their families. The Community Centre will also include a day care centre for 54 people, which will provide out-of-home self-development opportunities for the target group as well as for clients of the Community Centre accommodation and relief services.

The planned location of the facility is in the municipal district of Mariánské Hory a Hulváky.
