PIMMS CAPITAL PROJECT

by prokopovair — last modified Dec 18, 2012 10:48
It was created to reduce traffic impacts and improve public transport services.

The project 'Capitalising on Partner Initiatives in Mobility Management Services' (known as PIMMS CAPITAL for short) was created as part of a coordinated Europe-wide effort to reduce traffic impacts and improve public transport services. The project involves 18 European regions and is headed by the transport company TraffiQ, based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The main partner in the Moravian-Silesian Region is the Regional Council.

As part of the project, a delegation from Ostrava's City Authority (made up of specialists from the Economic Development Division and the Transport Division) visited the Irish city of Limerick on a fact-finding mission in October 2011. The main aim of the trip was to gather information on practical transport solutions, including intelligent traffic systems, cycle routes and traffic safety schemes. Based on the findings of the visit, Ostrava will draw up a series of action plans to be implemented locally in conjunction with the Moravian-Silesian Region and the Ostrava-based company KODIS, the coordinator of the city's integrated transport system.
