Climbing wall, bicycle and skating track, relaxing seating and more. Similar modern projects for leisure activities are currently being prepared by several Ostrava City Districts, and Hošťálkovice is no exception.

Hošťálkovice is preparing a sports and relaxation zone

The City District could build a trial track as early as this summer. People are looking forward to the leisure-time attraction.

In the coming days, the City District would like to select the contractor and announce that the track will be ready in the second half of this year's summer holidays. The main feature of the sports and relaxation zone will be a large trial circuit and a small children's circuit that will connect to existing roads and pavements.

What exactly is a trial track? "A trial track uses terrain deformations and existing trees to create a leisure-time attraction for both locals and visiting cyclists. We will also make a smaller and simpler paved circuit for children", explains the Hošťálkovice Mayor.

To make sure that we keep the visitors' adrenaline levels high enough, we have also included climbing walls. The small one will be almost two meters high with an impact area and will be built by the children's circuit; its more difficult version for adults will be built by the big trial circuit.

The municipality will pay approximately CZK 2.6 million according to the design costs.

"I believe that in the second half of the summer holidays, children will be able to try the new track or climb the practice climbing wall", said the Mayor. We would like to make a meaningful use of the public space in our municipality", says Mayor Jiří Jureček, adding that it will not just be a sports complex, because it will also include places to sit, such as benches and other elements.
